Item L8 - Stratton Bros No. 1 Brass Bound Plumb and Level.
This
clean and shining level is type 5 example of Stratton Brothers famous brass
bound level. This one has the eagle mark, and patent dates of 1872, 1887, and
1888 on the brass top plate. It is marked “No. 1” on one end plate. This one
is of a light colored heavy mahogany, with a length of 28 inches.. Both vials
are good. The brass binding has suffered a few dings at corners and one end,
but is in decent shape. It is a nice showy level that will work well in the
shop. Good+
