The same size as the Stanley No. 5 ¼ jack plane, this Millers Falls product is far less often found—especially in this condition. The plane is a type 4 (1953-66), but the “B” marking dates to the end of that period. This example has the showy orange stained goncalo wood handles that make it stand out in the work shop. This plane has all (and I mean “all”) of its original shiny finishes. You will not see a nicer one outside of the original box. Fine.
