Item P14 - Union Mfg. Co. No. 7 Jointer plane. Early Type

With
better than 90 percent of the original japanning, and only some dings in the
wood, This Union Jointer is in better condition than you usually see them. This
is an early type, made well before the Stanley acquisition of Union that took
place in the early 1900s. This one has the early large beaded front knob, and a
lateral lever that is marked, “Pat. App’d For.” The frog seat is quite
different from the Stanley model, with which later Union Planes were equipped.
The original blade has a 1 ¼” of meat, and is marked, “Union Mfg. Co. / New
Britain, CT, / U.S.A.” The lever cap has a small chip from its lower edge, but
there is no other damage. Good+
