This modern plane was made to emulate the long time Stanley No. 140, having a removable side plate to allow rabbeting and panel raising functions. The Lie Nielsen version additionally has thick bronze castings and lever cap that give it weight of about 2 lbs; a thick skew blade that is bedded in a low angle position, and a removable fence that allows precise planning. This example lacks the nicker of the more recent model, but it has been very little used, and is in top condition with all of its screws and parts. It is in the “right” hand version, with the removeable side plate being on the right side. It is Fine.
