Item C7 - G. W. Bradley (Weston, Ct) Pair of Framing Chisels 2 & 1”

This pair of very heavy quality framing chisels share the same mark—G. W. Bradley / Cast Steel.  Gershom W. Bradley worked in Weston, Connecticut from 1834 to 1911 and was a major Connecticut maker of a wide variety of edge tools in that period..  This pair of framing chisels appear to be from the latter half of the 19th century, and are probably of the same age.  The edge lengths are 2 and 1 inches.  Both chisels have plain backs and flat sides.  The 2 inch size measures nearly 8 inches from edge to shoulders and is 13 inches to the top of the socket.  The 1 inch size is 7 inches from edge to shoulders and is 12 inches to the top of the socket.  These have very heavy steel bodies and will stand up to hard use.  They need to be handled.  Good+
