Item DR2 - Yankee (North Bros) No. 1435 Hand Drill.

This
Yankee hand drill is one that you don’t see very often (at least I don’t).
Unlike the mechanically more complex drills, like the 1540, this one has two
speeds and a lock position that are controlled by pulling a knurled ring on the
shaft. It is a simple mechanism, and works smoothly. The drill has a three jaw
chuck with a ¼ inch bit capacity. The drill stands 11 inches high, and has a
gear wheel that is 3 inches in diameter. The patent number is marked on the
crank handle. There are no bits in the storage handle (there never are in
Yankee drills). Fine.
