Item DR6 - Yankee (North Bros) No. 50 Archaemedian Drill. 

 This smooth working reciprocal drill is 11 ¼ inches long.  The three-jaw chuck accepts twist drill bits up to 3/8” diameter.  The bulbous central drivers moves up and down, continuously turning the drill bit clockwise to drill through most metals, including steel.  There is a lock position to be used with tightening or loosening the bit in the chuck.  This model was made by North Bros beginning in 1902.  This example is marked with the 1902 patent date making it an early example.  Except for some nickel missing on central driver, and some dirt to clean from the chuck knurling it is in perfect condition, with complete shiny nickel plating and a perfect tropical hardwood handle that looks dark enough to be ebony.  Easily Good+.
