Item P4 - Stanley No. 4 Smooth Plane. Type 19 (1948 – 61)
Perhaps the most popular Stanley plane, this 1950s example has good rosewood
handles, and most of the original metal finishes. The nickel on the lever cap
is freckling a bit. The japanning is about 95%. The handle finish is a little
bumpy but this can be smoothed out easily. There are just a few paint spots to
clean. The blade is clean and long. A light cleaning and a blade honing will
put this plane right to work. Good+
