This machinist-made dancing leg caliper set is a bit different from the usual. First, it is large with legs that are 7 3/4” long from the hinge point. They can make inside and outside measurements up to about 12 inches. Next, they are well decorated, having dimple-detailed shoes, hinge ping and one stocking top. Finally the hinge treatment is embellished with faces of Indian/Buffalo head nickels. The coins show a 1917 date and “s” mint mark. Certainly this is an unusual and very nice example. Fine.
