Item S11 - Henry Disston & Sons No. 7 Hand Saw.

This older rip saw has a near perfect beech handle and a deep 26” blade filed 5 1/2ppi rip. The blade has some medium tarnish, but most of the etching is present and is easily readable. The saw has 4 brass saw bolts with slotted nuts and a recessed medallion. The medallion is recessed, with a slightly raised rim, and has the comma after the “Sons” that appeared for a brief time in 1878. the slotted nuts, newly appeared, have the thin threaded shanks that preceded Glover's patent that appeared in 1887. This is a handsome saw that has a seldom seen medallion dating it fairly precisely. Easily Good+
